Lovely people, great food! A unique SGV spot that's halal! Try their unique dishes like cumin lamb and the sesame bread. Uyghur culture must be preserved and we are so lucky to have this spot in Rosemead!
Been going here for like 15+ years. Food is consistent, service is always hit or miss here. If you're in the mood for something new, try this place out. Recommend to try all their bread, for you carb people, also come with a group so you can try more dishes,

Excellent service! Great clean place with peaceful ambiance. The food is generally pretty good and the prices are moderate to somewhat high but its nothing extreme. We had Mongolian beef, lamb dish, kung-poa chicken, szichuan chicken, chicken corn soup and hot and sour soup with thin onion parathas. We also ordered food to go since it was pretty good taste and price wise. Will visit again!
The quality and flavors of the dishes at China Islamic Restaurant absolutely blow us away! Four of us tried their 靖远特色炒羊肉 (Signature Braised Lamb), 主厨推荐酸辣宽粉 (Chef's Special Sour & Spicy Wide Noodles), and 西北凉皮 (Northwest Cold Noodles), beef dumplings and every dish was amazing. The portions are generous and perfect for sharing, and the prices are super reasonable for the quality. The lamb was tender and flavorful, the wide noodles had the perfect balance of sourness and spice, and the cold noodles were refreshing and flavorful. This place is a must-try if you're looking for authentic West North Chinese cuisine!
What I come here for is the green onion pancake and the lamb pickled cabbage soup. This place does not have the visual flair but I'm always leaving with a happy belly. The green onion pancake in both the flat form and thick form are sooo good. Lots of green onion. Lots of sesame. The soup is a perfect sour and my daughter loves it. It was dead on a Friday night which I don't understand. Would hate to see this place go since it really has some of our delicious favorites we can't find elsewhere
Why the hell didn't anyone tell me about this place until I was nearly 40?! Cumin lamb and the flatbread already make this place irreplaceable. Then all the hot pots and broths are simply irresistible. The staff is friendly and attentive. The ambience varies from chill to busy busy cafeteria filled with people stuffing their faces. It can be very lively and crowded so try to come at the open if you're new and get overwhelmed. If you're not familiar with the cuisine, have a deep talk with the wait staff and they won't lead you astray. If you're not adventurous they offer all the classic Asian dishes Americans have come to view as Asian staples, as well. So your picky American kid can have some chicken and not throw a tantrum at flavors not common to the mainstream american palate. Family friendly but be careful with the hot soup if your baby is insane.
